This one-of-a-kind beaded gemstone strand necklace features beautiful sparkly Hessonite garnet in a deep orange, 3.5m faceted rondelle. 5 dainty 14k gold-filled ball charms hang from the front of the necklace, and the piece fastens with a 14k gold-filled lobster clasp and beads. A 14k gold-filled extender chain allows this necklace to be worn between 17 and 19 inches.

"Gold filled" means there is a solid layer of gold (12k, 14k, 18k or 24k) permanently bonded to a base metal, such as brass. The minimum layer of gold must equal at least 1/20th of the total weight of the piece in order for it to be designated 'gold filled.' Under normal circumstances of wear (see guidelines below), the gold will not peel or flake, unlike gold plating. Gold-filled is a beautiful and more economical alternative to solid gold, which is not affordable for everybody. Gold-filled jewelry has 100x more gold than gold-plated, and because that layer is so much thicker, it means gold-filled jewelry lasts longer and stands up to wear and tear better.
