Antique Curb Figaro Watch Chain Necklace

This bright and shiny 12k gold-filled necklace celebrates the marriage of two vintage pocket watch chains with figaro and curb links. The piece fastens with the original 12k gold-filled swivel dog clasp and spring ring, which I've moved to the front so that the hanging T-bar pendant is removable. Additionally, you could add a vintage charm or locket to the front, to hang alongside or instead of the T-bar.

"Gold filled" means there is a solid layer of gold (12k, 14k, 18k or 24k) permanently bonded to a base metal, such as brass. The minimum layer of gold must equal at least 1/20th of the total weight of the piece in order for it to be designated 'gold filled.' 

Gold-filled is a beautiful and more economical alternative to solid gold, which is not affordable for everybody. Gold-filled jewelry has 100x more gold than gold-plated, and because that layer is so much thicker, it means gold-filled jewelry lasts longer and stands up to wear and tear better.
