14k gold-filled beads separate the amethyst from the ametrine bib in the front, and the piece fastens with a 14k gold-filled lobster clasp and finishings. 

There is a chain extender attached to the clasp that allows this necklace to adjust from 15 3/4 to 17 3/4 inches.
