Antique Cross Charm Locket

This antique locket is a fabulous piece of wearable history from the Victorian era. Although it is unmarked, it is likely 10k or 12k gold-filled, and the front is adorned with a black cross, heart and anchor. The inside features the original photos, which help tell an amazing unique story. (I can also remove them if you would prefer). Chains sold separately.

Gold filled" means there is a solid layer of gold (12k, 14k, 18k or 24k) permanently bonded to a base metal, such as brass. The minimum layer of gold must equal at least 1/20th of the total weight of the piece in order for it to be designated 'gold filled.'
Gold-filled is a beautiful and more economical alternative to solid gold, which is not affordable for everybody. Gold-filled jewelry has 100x more gold than gold-plated, and because that layer is so much thicker, it means gold-filled jewelry lasts longer and stands up to wear and tear better.
